    Description

This is an interesting auction for these unique, hard to find items:
    1) TWO (2) Autographed photos of Tex Beneke. Gordon Lee “Tex”Beneke was an American saxophonist, singer and bandleader.
His career is a history of associations with bandleader Glenn Miller and the former musicians and singers who worked with Miller. Beneke solos on the recording the Glenn Miller orchestra made of their popular song “In The Mood“ and sings on another popular Glenn Miller recording, “Chattanooga choo-choo“. Beneke is considered to be one of the major blues singers who sang with the big bands of the early 1940s.
The two autographed pictures in this auction were personally signed by BENEKE as part of a performance in the Tulsa Oklahoma area at the Indian Hills country club in the mid-1950s.
    2) ONE (1) autographed Photo from Clyde McCoy also known as “Mr. Sugar Blues“. McCoy was an American jazz trumpeter who’s popularity spanned seven decades. He is best remembered for his theme song, “Sugar Blues”.This autograph was also obtained from McCoy during the course of his performing at the Indian Hills country club in the mid-1950s.
    3) Two (2) identical publicity photographs of Don Rice “The Screamline Jester”. One of these photographs is autographed by Rice and the other one is NOT. These photographs were also obtained as part of his appearance at Indian Hills country club in the 1950s. Rice was known for his excellent performances playing the saxophone.
    4) One (1) autographed photo from Penny Conrad as well as a portion of a second, non-Autographed copy of the same photo which has had the lower portion cut off. Conrad apparently was known for her jazz and big band singing as well as some acting performances. Once again, her autograph was obtained as part of an appearance at Indian Hills country club in the 1950s.
These photographs are in very good to excellent condition, especially giving consideration to their age and use. Three of the photographs were cut out of a scrapbook, therefore, they have fairly thick paper backing attached to the back of them. I took photographs of both the front and back of all of the pictures so this should show well in those pictures. Please review all of the photographs carefully and use your own judgment as to these items.
These are interesting, historic Autographed photos of performers who were considered to be among the best in their fields at that time.
Thank you for your interest in my auctions
